I am horribly over excited about getting our first caravan - I have quite unnatural urges to purchase matching toast racks and egg cups ! Help I fear I am turning into Anne from the famous five - is anyone old enough to understand this and am I normal ??
Ha ha - love it ! Yes lashings of ginger beer and horses and mysterious doings ( anyone see the Comic Strip version ?)
And yes I am at heart George but domesticity and children have trend me into Anne . Maybe my caravan will help me channel my inner George
Typical women just like me other half every time we change the van we have to have cups plates etc to match the decor as well as new extra cushions, Awning must match the go faster stripes on outside of van etc over the years we have had red ( cant say red burgundy) green and blue awnings now the new awning must be charcoal and grey to match stripes on side of Adria Adora Danube I have only agreed because last blue one to small for new van.
Joking aside I hope You and your family have many happy years to come caravaning as I and my wife have had over the years we have been vanners "ENJOY"
Love it !!! So glad I am not the only one obsessing on colour matching , cushions, saucepans etc . Good point about the beds made of heather ( I knew someone else would remember) - we have a fixed bed for extra lazy comfort !

Haha, yes! You definitely don't sound like George, who cut a hole in her sleeping bag! I reread 'Five Go Off to Camp' recently and had to rush out and buy myself a canvas bucket. Didn't know there were such things till then.
You're quite normal Georgie girl - it's a wonderful pastime! If you really want to feel a 'Famous Fiver' visit Haycraft CC Site in Dorset, it's almost next door to Corfe Castle the world of E.B.
Jaygo that's on my list - Corfe castle is one of my favourite places ! In fact I have a framed photo of it in my reading corner ( where I am sitting now) I wonder if there will be mysterious lights there at night and gypsies looking surly
