Hi I am having problems with my carva 2 heater . After repairing cold pipe due to leak every time I turn cold or hot tap on only a tiny trickle will come out and rest off water just spurts out of overflow pipe on top of tank . Pump works fine as I temp blocked over flow pipe so water could not spurt out and had to go to taps when turned on . Over flow pipe must be there for a reason so any help please .

There isn't an overflow pipe on top of the tank as if there was this would likely to cause a flood inside the caravan. The hot water tank is round with two water connections, one at the bottom where the cold water entry is connected (blue pipe) and the top where the hot water exit pipe is connected (red pipe). If there is no red pipe fitted then it would look like an overflow pipe which actually is a non return pressure relief valve so if you have no water pipe connection then this explains why you have no water coming out of the taps. The system has to be totally sealed otherwise you get no hot or cold water flowing through the system.

Except Tango, some caravan makers fitted a 'tee' to the hot water outlet and this drained via a pipe through the floor?!
I've absolutely no idea why they thought this was required and advise the 'tee' is removed and the hot water pipe connected directly to the heater.

But in this case it appears both hot and cold is a problem and not at all sure why that should be??

Sorry Gary, I didn't know that some caravan manufacturers fitted an overflow as I'm only speaking from my own experience with my own system but it is puzzling as to why no cold water is running as well. I would have thought that it is down to a leak in the water system somewhere so it's failing to create any pressure required to activate the switch.

Glad you eventually got it sorted but that was down to the input from Gary's post from 'arc systems'. He has sorted many problems for caravanners on this forum as he is always the best one to ask if he is available. Well done again Gary.
