I own a Lunar Solar 525 1999 model. It is fitted with an Alko stabilised hitch. The hitch is old and I am unable to identify the model. The only number I can find is 4557 which is cast into the body of the hitch also the mounting bolts are at 90 degrees to each other unlike the newer units which have the bolts horizontal one behind the other. Does anyone have any information on this unit? The friction pads are similar to those in the 3004 but a metal construction with the pad inset. The friction pad is held with an o ring not pins or circlips that I have seen on other types.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Does it look like any of these three or is it like the middle one with the large red handle offset to the nearside which looks the same in the picture as blueexpo97 has posted?
Or this. Which I believe is what's in my first picture.
------------- XVI yes?

Yes 'blueexpo97' that's the one stabiliser that's not shown in the picture which is an Al-ko AKS 2000 model. I have that fitted on my caravan and requires a different type of hitchlock due to the large red handle being offset.
We can't offer any further assistance 'jenilto' unless you reply to the above posts and let us know if the informaion helped or not. If it's an older type stabiliser and not any of the above then please return a post and let us know.
I am sorry for the delay in answering, work gets in the way. My unit is different from those in your replies,The fixing bolts that attach the hitch to the tow bar are at 90 degrees to each other, also I think there is an M before the 4557 in the casting. I will go to the caravan store and take a couple of snaps tomorrow.
Thank you all for your replies, I do appreciate the trouble you have gone to. I will post a couple of pictures over the weekend. Regards jenilto
Up date.
I have now identified my hitch , thanks to the information in your replies. I have a 2000-a. I can now order the friction pads i require. Many thanks to Tango55 and Blueexpo97 for your help. Happy camping.
Regards Jenilto.
