Hi,

We have developed a problem. When we run any water through the bathroom tap, water comes out of the kitchen tap. It does it whether we run hot or cold. I assume there is a valve gone somewhere but does anyone know where to start please?

This never happened last year and has only come to light since I re filled the water system after winter.

Any help would be appreciated.

could be the seal drying out      or even a broken seal due to frost damage    We had our van out for the first run of the year - serviced in January - and the tap leaked    mobile fitter came within 2 hours and took an hour to do the job    glad I did not try it myself      don't use the tap - use the other sink for the water until you can see to it and all shall be well    Had a tap go in france - six semaines sans eau - well nearly

When you switch the bathroom tap on, you also engage a small microswitch under the tap which switches the pump on, hence the water will also run from a faulty kitchen tap.

The kitchen tap has a fault and as has been suggested it may be a seal or most likely frost damage. Did you leave the tap closed all winter? We've all done it! I now drain the system at the campsite in late season, leave all the taps open, and the drive home shakes most of the water out of the system.

All the taps were left open over winter. They are an expensive item to replace that is for sure.

I thought it may be the seal in the tap that had dried out as the van was drained.

All fixed now, what a fiddly job it was.

why manufacturers insist on making the hoses the exact length needed? Another inch and the job would have been a doddle.

anyway all leak free now.

They must train in the same place electricians do! A few more inches of cable would make everything much easier but its as if it costs a kings randsom!
