we have checked our battery & its fine but dont know what to do next< we have checked fuses & they are ok, but still no electric any suggestions

check cable for an Inline fuse maybe loose connection or a blown fuse

Daft question perhaps, but what are your exact symptoms?
No electric through out?
No 12v?
No 240v (sockets?)
On EHU or not?

Check battery voltage and cables. Some cables have inline fuse as well as the fuse box protection.

We had electric when we went away for one night, but the rest of the week we had none we borrowed a battery charger off site warden for the rest of the week. We have checked fuses today, OH thinks the battery is not charging, we did charge it when we got home.

It does sound like the charger if every thing started to work.

Then again,the battery could be at fault too,you need a meter to test both,output of charger should be 13.5volts.

Agree with Jeff regarding proper testing, without it you're second guessing.
Hate to say it though, but there was a spate of faulty chargers in Swift vans a few years ago, you may have a failed unit.

we tested the voltage from the battery & its 12v, fuses ok, are there any other places we should check

There should be a yellow 20amp fuse somewhere that runs from the battery to the caravan control panel, is that ok, had the same trouble at Easter, ok on hook up but nothing worked when on battery only, turned out to be that fuse.
