Due to work commitments, me and the missus don't get much time off during the summer months, most of our breaks are in winter.
We managed to get a couple of nights away last week... and forgot what it was like to caravan in decent weather (it was nearly hot) so we intend to get away a bit more in summer but it'll be short breaks for one night only.
I know some of you will be thinking .. like whats the point ! but we miss using the van, can you book some sites for one night in the summer months.
I agree with Bob. The idea might sound daft but sticking the van somewhere from where you could base yourself for a short while can be quite refreshing - change of scenery and all that.
thats a shame as Im a milk man and commute from the van, its great wife and kids get a hols I come back to the van, sleep til 2 ish then have rest of day on holiday
We have our main trips to France, then during the summer try to get away for the odd night if we can at short notice. Ring up the day before to book, if they have a space, they'll be glad to have you, if not try elsewhere.
We are self employed in retail and have to work every day including Bank Holidays and weekends so holidays are not possible.
We are members of both clubs and join weekend rallies within about 25 miles of work and manage to get away for 2 or 3 nights most weekends.
We have aready been away 4 times this year, total 10 nights due to the bank holidays, and still work every day.
The C&CC suits us best as there is no need to book, we have made many friends and we enjoy the social evenings.
1 night booking is possible at all CC sites providing they have vacancies. Lots of CLs as well and the vast majority will take one night.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
How about siting it on a seasonal pitch not too far from home. Then all you need to do is throw a few things in your car and off you go. Everything is already set up so you can go late in the evening and enjoy the time you have.

------------- Wish I could go camping more and not have to work for a living!!!
We are self employed and are fortunate enough to get quite a lot of time to use our van. Despite this last year we went. Away for 1 night breaks a few times. We encountered no problems in doing this.
I think that it's great that you want to use the van as much as you can. In my opinion 1 night is better than 0 nights.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
