Looking at going away for the bank holiday weekend, but left it a bit late in booking a pitch with electric hook up, the only avaible pitches are grass pitch only.
Questions... How long would a leisure battery last the three of us in a caravan for two nights and what precautions would we need to take to make the leisure battery last the duration?
All advice greatly received .

1, How big is the battery.
2, What are you going to run on your battery.
3 Your battery will last for 2 days, As long as you dont give the tv any hammer for hours on end.

Obviously, start off with a fully charged battery, and make sure the connections are clean and tight. If your lights are LED types or fluorescent, they will drain the battery less than the filament types. As you will not be running a TV, you should have no problem lasting 2 nights unless you are in the habit of staying up til 2 in the morning.------------- Best Regards,
Colin

We've managed 4 nights on just battery and gas and still had power for the motor mover when we got back to storage. We don't have LED lights and we occasionally use a portable dvd player in the evenings although I charge that up before we leave home. We use the radio quite a lot too. We rarely camp with EHU so we make sure the battery is charged up regularly.------------- Homebird

Sounds promising, I'd say mabe a problem would be that we only have 7 pin electrics on the car at the moment which wouldn't charge the battery on the way to he site, but the battery would be fully charged before we left home

If your battery is in decent condition, and fully charged before you leave home, you should have no problems. Have a great weekend!------------- Best Regards,

Should be, brand new at beginning of the year, and charged up every week.
Thanks

2 weeks last august with no EHU.
Thats the longest ever for us with no EHU.
Lighting and the hot water in the mornings. Having swapped some of the lights for LEDs helped.
Need to get down the storage and swap all the other lights to LED now.
