Had a service done today / damp found at front windows / tech suggested superglue behind the rubber seals / van is 20 years old / tech reckons not worth renewing the seals / advice/opinions please
Comes down to how much you love your van ?though i would not use super glue as its not water proof but IDL 99,a cartridge is around £2 and is caravan sealer.
I had a bit of water coming in through a window seal, which I fixed with waterproof sealant. As Jeff suggests above, or sikaflex ( a lot more expensive!)
fixxall sealant is exactly the same as sikaflexx at a fraction of the price will stick even when its raining hot or cold used it a few times worth every penny around £3-£4 a tube pluss corking gun if you dont have 1
maybee worth note 33 year old van bone dry really does work try top rails over windows aswell
all I can say is It has NEVER worked for me I bought it to try & seal very fine cracks in the awning rail/ ABS front panel area & have tried it in several other applications & it has never worked your best bet is to use as suggested a caravan sealant under the window seals, but do check the sealant along the window hangers as this is often the cause of damp in the front of the van
