It appears from that if you want a Lite you will have to pay for it rather than swap your existing 6kg bottle. I'm guessing the vast majority of 6kg users are caravanners anyway so this is Calor halting loss of revenue caused by giving away 'free' Lites in exchange for old 6kg bottles which nobody will want & will have to be scrapped.
Thought it had been like that for a wee while now.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I'm fortunate enough (!) to have a Calor depot near me who seem to have a good supply of the Calorlite bottles all year. Chatting to the manager a few weeks ago, he confirmed Calor will now only change "lite for lite", and the information he has been given indicates that this is there new permanent agreement.
My local calor retailer will swap any bottle for any bottle, but this is more reason why I'm moving to Gaslow. Saving £15 per 6kg fill
Okay the outlay will take 10 refils to get back, but I've done 2 bottles since Easter (thats 1 bottle every 3 weeks) so it should pay for it's self before they years out. Mind you we do go out almost every weekend off grid
The "new" policy means that now if you run out and like me find the retailer has no Calorlites in stock, you can't temporarily get over it by taking a steel . You will never get your lightweight back.
Seems a stupid marketing policy and one that will drive the thinking user to switch over to their competitor Gaslight; like me.
My local supplier suggested ringing the regional calor supplier to complain particularly if you had recently changed your lite to a steel due to lack of availability. If they ok'd the situation he said he would be happy to change it. He said that they are being charged £30 per lite bottle short at the end of the year if the stocks don't match. Personally I aren't that bothered if I am carrying lites or otherwise but sometime driven by principle!!
