Help I have just purchased a hobby 650 and are looking for somewhere around the Worcester Shropshire area to site it permanently, this is my first caravan and after visiting two sites today and being told sorry we don't allow hobbies ,i am feeling a little dis gruntled and wondering have I made a mistake buying the van of my dreams ? If anybody has any surgestions where to site it I would be most gratefully
A caravan seasonal pitch on a site thats fairly secure with barriers, cctv, members only ect may be your best bet, l certainly wouldnt put it on an open patch of land type site with little security.
I live near a Hobby dealer, you want to see the lengths hes had to go to to keep his stock safe, viewings are by appointment only, his yard is not accessable to the public unless he takes you through some very sturdy razorwired locked gates, and the caravans are kept behind large concrete bollards to stop anyone ram raiding the gates and trying to drag one off.
From what l could see, the only way to get one out was through the workshop, and someone lives on site 24/7 to keep an eye on the place.

Try Canalside Caravan Park in Whitchurch. They have seasonal pitches and the site is very secure with a barrier too. Lovely site. Nice pub over the road and a lock just 5 minutes walk with a lovely little shop. Also a lake with fishing.
It will most likely be because they have the door on the wrong side, so the van would have to sited front in, so as to keep all doors, awnings and cars the same way round.
Not sure if they will accept a hobby, but Mill Farm caravan park in Hughley just outside of Much Wenlock may be able to help.
Their website can be reached on here, roads are narrow but they have statics delivered regularly so you shoulbe ok
I've had my Hobby for 10 years now and have been in nigh on 100 sites in England & Wales (+France) and have NEVER been refused at any site. This includes several in Shropshire as I like the County.
Ive never been refused, as for the door being on the wrong side, when a uk van is taken to the continent isnt the door on the wrong side there, ive never heard of anybody saying the were refused there,
Thanks to all replies the main problem is it attracts the wrong kind of people to the site to steal it which is not fair on the people who have there caravans sited there ? Still looking and still open to ideas
