Hi all, thinking of getting a mover put on our van.
What makes and models are there and what sort of price will I be looking at to supply and fit.
We have a sterling Eccles topaz with a maximum weight of kg 1384.
Cheers
We got ours from ebay - although they can come and connect it for you. Rhyno movers in Coventry, was the best thing I ever did - no more huffing and puffing trying to squeeze into a space

Hi, I bought an E.GO CARAVAN MOVER. from www.homesteadcaravans.co.uk mail order arrived within 24hrs fitted single handed [ an helper recommended ] straight forward to do. comes with good instructions. That was 3yrs ago still works fine. PS. enter fitting caravan mover on YOU TUBE there was a video on there how to do it.
Just had a Powetouch Evolution Manual to our Bailey orion fitted by John at Mission Impossible, very professional and efficient, came to the home and done and dusted within 2 hours.

Doesn't fitting a mover, reduce your payload too??
Yes ..the weight of the MM will be deducted from the usable payload but the benefits of having a MM far outweight that issue.
Some folks like myself would be unable to continue caravanning without a MM due to health and storage issues.

It is a fool who has to say something.
We have a Powrtouch Heavy Duty with manual actuator that was ex display off ebay. (The handset and receiver unit were brand new in the box, only the motors had been used previously).
We paid £400 for it and fitted it ourselves using two car jacks to lift it into place. Took about an hour and a half.
It's brilliant for getting the caravan in and out of storage where we only have about 4 inches clearance each side.
------------- 2015 - our 1st year of caravanning with a new baby. Can't wait! :)
We've had a new Powrtouch put on - cost near enough £800.
I got sick of our old one becoming intermittent, so bit the bullet. I know i could have got a cheaper one, but i asked around quite a bit, and the concensus was that these are the best, with a five year parts/labour guarantee. Also, if anything goes wrong whilst on site, they will come and fix it there and then.(this i only learned after it was fitted).
All movers work some better than others some fully auto no winding in or out.
Some have poor road clearence, others built with road clearence in mind, others concentrate on weight to save on pay load,
Some have nylon drives others have friction coatings, some have 1 motor others have 2 some vans need 2 movers others only 1, but you pays your money and makes your choice, "But where in hell do you fit it on a single axle front or back of wheels"
I HAVE SEEN THEM FITTED BOTH SIDES ON VARIOUS VANS
Do you increase the nose weight or the heavy load stowing weight ??????????
We have a Reich mover, its been fitted on two separate caravans in 4 years, and is still going strong. It cost us £800 including fitting, and we went for the manual wind on type as we heard a few horror stories of the fully auto type jamming onto the wheel and making it impossible to move the caravan or hitch up without getting the tool kit out and fixing the fault first, not good when your egar to depart on holiday or to return.

I fitted my P touch (super make) at the back of the wheels on my previous van because the drainage points wouldn't allow me to put it at the front (recommended by powerwheel) on my present van it's at the front.if you do fit at the back, you may have to swap the cables over on the receiver,(instructions should tell you) otherwise it works opposite to your inputs
All good info, thanks everybody, have found a enduro on autowfix which jax365 recommended, tow sure will price match so at the moment there seems some good offers out there.

Great stuff! I had autowfix to install my little enduro, it's brilliant! You will not regret it and like a lot of folk (myself included) you will find yourself saying, 'I wish I had done it sooner/ best thing ever bought for the caravan..' etc.
