We have been extremely pleased with our Altea 542DT (Tamar as is now) and no notable faults even though it 3.5 years old.

I would try and get out and see both in the flesh as both very small and almost niche type vans so important to get a feel I would say

Do check where your nearest Adria dealer is as you would need to service there currently to maintain its 6 or 10 years body integrity warranty (although this may change going forward apparently)

We are very happy with our altea 542dt as well, so I don't think you'll have problems with the adria.   I notice that the Shannon is thinner and longer the xplore. They might feel different inside re spaciousness, have you been to view them? Are you limited to 1100kgs?

Another happy Adria owner here...only had ours since October though, but apart from some little niggly things, we love it. We have the venture sportline DT (altea tamar I think) and it's lovely and comfy.

Yeah we have seen both. We have just sold our tab as we now have a little boy and it was not practical so we are used to minute vans! We wanted something that had option of two single beds/bunks that wasn't fixed. I do like both, the elddis does feel a little better quality but it is a lot more expensive. We have looked high and low on the market and I think these are the only two as we want a light can no more than 1250. Nice to hear lots of positive adria owners...any xplore owners?

Adria for me. I own a Elddis 2013 Avante from new. Like many many others have had nothing but trouble with it. And customer service is appalling . The heating system is hopeless ,the aerial doesn't work and the build quality is disgusting. I have had new switches, lights , flyscreen.heating system times 3, two aerials still doesn't work, rear panel cracked( elddis refused to replace just put two caps over the cracks) grill not working, wardrobe door fell of and hit wife on the head, and have missed a weeks holiday as to date they have taken 6 weeks to authorise to my dealer the replacement of a rear broken leg/stay ,new door hinges and grill repair. If It wasn't for the fact I would loose thousands I would get a adria like a shot.

And before anyone ask the dealer has been nothing but helpful but has to wait for Elddis to give the green light for the repairs. And as for SOGA ,I have to give them the opportunity to do the repair.now after six weeks they have informed my dealer they want a copy of my service sheet as I had a mobile engineer to do my service this year, the same engineer they used to do the cracks on my rear panel.

+1 for Adria. We also have 542 DT now just over a year old and much used. Very good vans akin to Ikea - lightweight but durable ;-)

Isn't it funny how people's perceptions of things are so different...we were looking at an Elddis xplore before we got the adria and thought it felt a bit cheapy inside...but then it doesn't do for everyone to like the same thing.

If you go for the adria, venture in Northampton are a dealer at lot of us adria owners used. They do a sport line version, which has some extras too.

Looks like you have been very unlucky and got a bad one there Scoobz, our Elddis Avante is fine, its nearly a year old now and no real major problems over the 10 weeks we have used her since new. Our ariel does work, but l have to agree you do need to be in a fairly good signal area, but when you do get it going, its a very good picture. We find the heating system very good too, but that could be because we only have the two berth, so not so much space to heat.

Our dealer has been brilliant at getting the rest of the small niggles sorted out for us, but these have only been minor things like adjusting cupboard doors or sorting out a fuse that had blown in our toilet flush after it had stood all winter, other than that we are quite pleased with it.

Julia

Very well built vans.
We love ours and wouldn't change it for anything else.

Hi Julia ,so glad that you are enjoying your van, that's how it should be. I expect that there might of been some niggles, but sadly it is more than that. And I have been in touch with many other owners who have had very poor quality issues. I have lost count at the amount of vans that have had the cracked rear panel issue. Many who have had the cracks on the lower rear( like myself) have now had to have the full panel replaced due to cracking on the top as well as the bottom. They have found that the panel was to tightly fitted and stretched .hopefully they may of got there quality issues sorted for the 2014 models,as I wouldn't wish what I and so many others have had to suffer. Cheers Scoobz

Don't like "rubbishing" other vans but have also read on other forums about cracked Elddis rear panels

OP what about the Altea Tay which is a bit bigger inside and only 1200kg fully loaded

One thing when you have kids is you never wish you had less space ;)

EDIT - sorry just seen you want two singles so forget that!
