I was looking at a voltmeter before, pretty easy to install?

+ to positive side of battery.
- to negative side of battery.

If it reads backwards you've got the leads the wrong way round.

Yeah I thought this but the van is on an incline, used stocks to lift it up, gone up top level on rear but using a spirit level still about an inch or more from being level, it's just a temporary measure if I can find a independent gas fridge I can level it by placing something underneath it, the fridge itself might work on level ground, the pilot light lights but stays the same size on all 3 gas settings, tried turning the fridge upside down, but still nothing

As you are on a solid road surface can you use some planks of wood to get the van level? That might get the fridge working? That might be the best way to solve the problem.   It might take a lot of time to get it right but once done it should be the solution.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

Yeah good idea in theory but even having 2 unsightly yellow stocks is rather a bit to conspicuous for my likening , so lifting it up further is a no, shame but reality,

I did manage to get the fridge out and upside down, so maybe their is a way of putting something not likely to catch fire under the fridge, even though it wouldn't screw back in, but could live with that, anyway got a refund on everything today, so now got a freeze block cool bag, see how cold milk is in the morning, and refreeze the blocks again.

Maybe running that fridge drained the battery quite abit, been on charge all day nothing running and it's still flashing yellow, so I won't use the tv till it's green, then I'll see how long the battery lasts on 2 to 3 hours a night with daytime charge

Can anyone suggest anything I might need to help me, I've got a little left over cash from the loan as a bought one a lot lower than the loan price, to pay off all bills, a previous car loan, so now everything I earn is mine after tax apart from the loan repayments, which is being paid to myself effectively, got essentials like smoke and carbon monoxide detectors,

Going to get a flat satelite dish was looking at the snipe self sat but practicaly the same result using a motorised system at fraction of price
Just came across 2x Alphaline DC31 Battery 125ah for £168
Possible suitable electric blanket?

I have taken a risk, deciding living this way, but if it comes off ill be able to afford to pay a deposit on a house a mortgage,my daughter will be nearly 6 by then and we can all live together :)and I'll start paying bills again, as I know most of what I'm earning isn't going to someone who let's face it probably owns 20 to 30 houses anyway, when I only want 1 house of my own

First of all best of luck to you.
My line of thought would be, get your gas fridge sorted, it may be goosed, test it on level ground, poss look at replacing it from a breakers for around 160 quid, buy a ross satellite kit, cheap! Refill your gas bottles at a small garage that does refills, keep your eye out for a generator. Have a look on canal forums for discussions on living aboard a boat with 12v only as your in the same boat!

Forget the electric blanket, even with 2 x 125ah you will not have enough power!!

Running electric rather than electric. for things is not going to work just from solar panels in winter and is very limited even in summer. Ideally you need a mains electric supply if you can get one.

You really need to get as much as possible running on gas rather than electric.

I'll ask again.
Have you done a power audit yet?
