Where on a Bailey would you find the chassis number ? been looking at a van, windows are all etched with the same number but I was expecting to find a serial no plate some where round about the front hitch / A frame but found nothing, no sign of one having been removed either.

What is etched on the windows is usually the CRIS Number.
There should be a plate at the bottom/side of the door with all the necessary info on it, including the Serial Number. ------------- Lobey.

When we had a Bailey it was also stamped directly on the A frame part of the chassis. It was exactly the same number as the CRIS on the windows.

I have a feeling they use the CRIS number as the chassis number these days. It's always the number you have to quote when dealing with people.------------- Rich

Deal fell through in the end, ran a cris check, van was not stolen, had no hpi on it fine but seller had not registered it in his name, I was ok with that till I found out neither did he have the cris document, further check with cris revealed the named owner had not sent in the sale notification, time to walk away.
