This is what we're doing soon, we were supposed to be getting a new bathroom fitted and other work on the house when were away on holiday for a fortnight.
Plumber has come today and said he has to postpone by a week as he has to get a minor operation, and it'll take 3 or 4 days to recover.
So faced with no running water in the house or any washing facilities, we have decided to just live in the van for a week. I'm back at work, so need to be fairly close, so were staying at balbirnie park CC site so I can get a wash in the morning, head off to work and come home and sit in the awning in the evening.
Kids are pretty excited too so all good
------------- Who needs travel agents,we have our static
Barbie Girl you are so right. We recently spent 4 days at the CCC site at Hertford, which is only 5 miles up the road from us, just to check out our "new" caravan, and it was great. A mini-break on a lovely site, which I would heartily recommend.
We've just lived in our van in the back garden for 7 weeks whilst our house has been gutted inside and rebuilt, connect to outside tap, mains in garage, waste water to drain had to just empty toilet down drain by lifting lid,it was worth it not to live in dust for weeks and builders said it saved weeks and ££ on the job because they didn't have to work around us
fife-bloke - Balbirnie great site and a great idea. Hope to be doing similar soon, wife retires on Friday and the idea is we park the van during the week and I commute.
