On site in glorious hot weather with all roof vents open when a blasted pigeon sits on our large vent and decides to dump !! It lands on the fly screen and we had to clean it up...ughh. How do we stop this happening again without having the vents half closed ? and has anyone else suffered the same fate ?
Just had my wife's Sorento cleaned on return from France, come out and its been bombed! Bloody pigeons again.
I rarely leave my Saab with the top down as I can imagine birds seeing it as a target of opportunity!

We often get one poop onto the clear part of the vent, but luckily never onto the mesh, although we did have a swallow family manage to dump onto it on the last CL we stayed on, but being much smaller birds, it quickly dried hard and was easy to scrape off intact.
Wherever possible site your caravan away from trees and overhanging suitable perches, such as telegraph lines, TV ariels, and old barns ect. They dont like being out in the middle of a field, and dislike anything that flutters, so a flag or windsock is often a good idea. We carry a water spraybottle and give them a squirt to disperse them if we spot them first, but one of the attractions for them on a caravan roof is the pools of water from either condensation or rain which provides them with an easy drink.

My sister had a tall flag on a pole she said it was to keep birds off the roof of the van.
I can't be bothered with flags and poles but I did think what a good idea.

Seagulls are worse
Indeed they are and anyone visiting Bridlington would be well advised to take a large umbrella with them, as Mr Gull and family have turned quite a few town center roofs into Bomber Command, often to the extent that the pavements are white over with their mis-fires!
They managed to get my OH with a beauty, directly onto his bald head and down his back, Sir was not amused!
