I am off to france next week and concerned about the tyres, currently it has Champiro 195 70 14 91H tyres on it from new which were manufactured in 2007 according to the code. They are starting to crack so I want to get them changed. What do you recommend as it seems 91H are just normal car tyres? I was looking at Triangle 95H for extra load but are these a caravan tyre? I've heard of 6 ply or 8ply, are these necessary?

Depends on the weight of your van. Phone Venture Caravans they are Adria experts but I believe car tyres are ok on your van as it is so lightweight.

91 loading would take max of 615kg per tyre so 1230kg total on two wheels.

Your DS I believe can be max of 1100kg? therefore with a safety margin built in as recommended I would say any tyre of 91 loading or above should be fine
