Hi all
I was looking out my window yesterday and noticed a group of lads at the front of the van at the handbrake and wheel at the front i knocked on the window and they ran away. My question is can you get a lock so you can lock the handbrake in the locked position.

As far as I'm aware there isn't a device for locking the handbrake but if the wheels were chocked and all four corner steadies were lowered to the ground then the caravan wouldn't have moved anyway if the handbrake was released. My caravan is in storage and leave my handbrake off during the winter to avoid the brake shoes binding against the drums.
Hi
My van is parked on a slope next to my house with the garage behind. The two front corners were down. And the chocks were in place but i would still prefer to lock the handbrake as you can imagine.

I was always under the impression it's best not to leave your hand break on whilst parked up with steadies down and wheel chocks on to stop breaks sticking

Years ago I made a handbrake lock for my Morris Minor and I am sure anyone could do the same for their caravan.
Basically you put the handbrake on and then slip a piece of tubing over the end.
On the Morris, I then put the car in 1st gear and padlocked the tube to the gearstick. The tube had its end flattened and a hole through this that would accommodate the padlock.
On a caravan, you would use the same sort of tube but padlock it to the Jockey Wheel handle.
It wouldn't stop a determined thief with an angle grinder, but it would certainly stop any interference from mindless children.
