has anyone had an al-ko chassis jacking point collapse.
a friend of mine has a "new last year" swift challenger, (celebration) , he tried to jack up the nearside wheel using the chassis fitted brackets and jack, and the bracket just bent outwards ,and slipped off the jack.
unfortunately he's not too well right now so I can't get anymore details.
I took his caravan to the dealers last week, for him, for its first service, and they said they hadn't had one bend before, and they will get in touch with swift, for their advice.
but swift are on summer shutdown right now.
anyone else come across this

Ouch!! - *not* the axle!!!
The reinforced plate at the end of the axle is fine, or third party solutions like 'Carajack' or 'Kojack' (that use brackets bolted to the existing Alko holes) is also good (not as good as a trolley jack under the reinforced points, but they do save carrying the trolley jack with you)
Best of all - call out the RAC and give them a fiver tip when they've finished

that's exactly what they are, purpose made brackets ,by alko that bolt onto existing holes in the chassis just to the rear of the wheels

The Kojack/Carajack brackets are far more substantial than the Alko type.
If *they* bend, then there really *is* a problem

I use a trolley jack under the axle and then axle stands when I am in the workshop.
Out on the road I have the Kojack system. This I like because the jack slots onto the purpose made jacking brackets and cannot slip off.
