I have a Swift Rapide GLX 470 with a damp patch in the upper front left of the caravan. I am quite willing to take the wall apart to repair it but I can't work out how to remove the roof cupboards. If anyone knows a way to do this I would be very grateful if they would pass on their knowledge. Thanks in advance.

Try asking on the Swift Forum You may get someone there who has allready done it.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.

You must remember a van is built from the inside out.
There was a thread on this about 6 months ago and some one said they are stapled.He got a thin tool like a paper scrapper and put it between the roof and the cupboard then hit the scrapper along so as to break the staples.
you don't remove the cupboards, as said previously they're screwed/stapled from the outside before the skin goes on. the only way to repair a wall panel is to cut round the cupboards ,like this
then replace the board with a new one, glued in place.
with time and patience you can achieve a very good finish.

thank you for the replies. most of the dampness is in the cupboard and I think due to the restricted space it would be very difficult to do a repair with the cupboard in place.

When I had to remove the cupboards in my campervan, I eased away the cupboard from the wall and ceiling with a chisel and then ran a saw blade with a taped up end to make a handle, which I used to cut through the screws holding the cupboard in place.
After I had repaired the dampness, I glued and screwed batons to the wall and ceiling that would fit inside the cupboard to hide these and then screwed the cupboard to the batons.
