I haven't use them but depending on what you are looking to borrow (and your credit rating) have you considered paying the balance on a credit card? We did this with our last van and got £8k on a 0% deal for 18 months (I think there was a 2% transfer fee from our standard card) and then moved it after this to another 0% card before we then cleared it. It worked out much cheaper for us then finance or a bank loan.
