I am absolutely disgusted. Yesterday I did a little laundry using the on site facilities at a caravan club site. When it came to using a dryer it became obvious to me that somebody had put their dogs bedding, coat and towels in to dry. I went to find a warden to complain who said yep it's disgusting but nothing we can do! Anyhow as myself and the warden walked back to the laundry room the owner of the dog bedding walked in, to say I blew my top was an understatement. It turns out that the stupid owner hadn't even washed it first just put in filthy wet dog items. I'm going to contact the cc club head office but just wondered what other people thought. I have dogs myself but am appalled that anybody would think this acceptable.
If we had to, we would wash the dog's bedding in the washing machine first and then use a dryer. Definitely would not put it straight into a dryer first.
However there are no rules forbidding this so nothing to complain about.
Well if I have my way there will be signs appearing everywhere. If people want to wash their pets items in their own washing machine fine but not in a communal laundry area! And either there should be signs saying not to do it or signs warning people that this problem exists so you can make the choice of potentially putting your own laundry in a machine that has just been used to wash dog items!!!
The wardens told me that that is not acceptable putting dogs bedding in the machines and they do ask owners not to do it. So it is against the clubs rules.

...and that was just in the dryer! Just think of all the dogs hairs, puke, pee and poo debris scattered around on your pitch after somebody with a dog has just left

Why do some folks make excuses for inconsiderate people who show no signs of common sense or courtesy towards other campers. Why would you need a sign to state the obvious.
Are they the very people who see this behaviour as normal

Absolutely agree, we too have a dog, a golden retriever, she has long hair and wouldn't dream of inflicting them on anyone. Why are so many folk inconsiderate, they wander through life like they are the only people on the planet and can do just as they please when they feel like it? Rant over.

Don't forget the rabbit, badger and fox poo, pee and debris and also the bird droppings.
It clearly is not obvious common sense and there appears to be no rule. The warden may well tell people it is not allowed. I bet he didn't tell the perpetrator.
Well l dont like using communial laundries full stop. We have a friend who owns a boatyard with a communial laundry, and its not just dog bedding thats the problem in leaving behind debris in the machines, sometimes his machines get blocked by human waste and incontinence products, soiled nappies that have just been thrown in with the dirty bedding, or puked on sheets from the night befores overindulgence, some people just do not care, they dont have to pay the repair bill should the machine break down due to a blockage, so they often use it like a semi liquid waste disposal machine.
I agree, its totally unacceptable to dry any dirty unwashed item in the tumbledriers on site, just think of the bacteria that must grow in the warm damp air inside the dryer, a dirty disgusting trick.
