Between ordering and picking up my first ever caravan in June/July I read so many horror stories about dealers and shoddily constructed caravans that I really wondered if I'd done the right thing.
So I thought I'd write something nice about my supplying dealer, Grantham Caravans.
First, I got a cracking deal that no-one else could match, on and end-of-2014 model.
Second, Tim the salesman couldn't have been more helpful. Handover of the 'van took two hours (partly because he realised I was such a newbie), in which time he explained and demonstrated everything about the 'van (a Swift Challenger Sport) with the 'van connected to water and EHU. He then attached the battery and gas I'd brought with me.
The detail was such that had there been the slightest fault it would have been discovered. At the same time, as a caravanner himself, he gave some very good tips that have stood me in good stead.
After this he left me alone with the caravan for as long as I wanted, to have a good poke around and to check it really was perfect.
My only worry after this was that the 'van might leak, but since then it's weathered some filthy weather, both in transit and in storage (and gone through a river ford), and remained dry as a bone.
All in all a very good experience.
------------- Camping Gear expands so as to fill the space available for its transportation.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We too had a marvellous experience with Grantham caravans. I noticed a small mark on the bathroom door which they said they would replace, we went back to the showroom to sign the paperwork and came through the message it was done!!!!!!! I thought we would have to return at a later date.
We have had a few snags which have been dealt with speedily and the window recall was fixed before we even got the recall letter!
------------- Started with a motorbike and tent.......my gallery, my life.
It is natural to want to shout loudly and tell as many people as you can if you experience apalling service (and long may this continue) but it seems that when we experience great service we seem less motivated to shout as loudly.
It's great to know who we should avoid but even better to know who who we should avoid AND who we should to go to instead.
Enjoy the new van,its great camping.Good thing is you got a swift.Problems seem to plague baileys.Great news we have a good dealer.I also think lowdhams are quite good too.
