Hi we have been thinking of a seasonal pitch for next year we would use it probably once a month and for three maybee 4 full weeks in the year as we are retired but have part time jobs. Its on the drive at home so is not costing us anything at the moment so we are not sure what to do. Someone said try places what store the van then put them on the pitch that way its just storage you pay for then thee pitch when you go. Any advice appreciated we are in the noth west so would be looking north wales or the fylde coast which is not too far away. The other worry is when we go away people notice as the van is on the drive . Whats your thoughts on it
The problem with store and pitch is that every time you leave to go home you have to pack everything away because it's going to be towed. On a seasonal pitch you just leave everything set up ie the TV on the chest of draws etc so when you next go to it it's all set up ready
Thanks big roy yes thete is that to it I never thought about that . Just wondered would it work out cheaper that way as we could only go 1 weekend a month. Also for 3 to 4 weeks. So not getting an awful lot of use from it . As we are oap s 1500 is a lot to us . But having said that we have not used the caravan much this year which is a shame. So may make us use it more . Anyone else got any takes on it
As you say it would cost more to leave on a Seasonal pitch.
The store and pitch option seems to be a more viable and cost effective option for you needs.
I don't think it will be a big deal packing things away after each time you use it. You would have to do it if you were touring and towing.I can pack the caravan at home in less than an hour before going on a trip and I think it would be less time for store and pitch setup.
The seasonal is the easiest option but the most expensive.

Sorry maggie, I live in Scotland and not familiar with the areas you mention.
Hopefully someone who is, will come along and give some help..you could also have a look at the site search on here and if you see somewhere you like you could maybe email or phone them to ask if they do store and pitch.

As navver says you would need to get a price for store and pitch + cost of how many nights you are likely to spend on pitch to give a rough comparison.

Yes will look into that before we decide just need to find somewhere thst does them likevhubby said why should we pay to store it when its on the drive . But thing is we are jot using it to its full potential on the drive. Anyone know any store and stays about 1 to 2 hrs away from manchester would be grateful thanks guys
Conwy Tourist park used to do them, but l believe the place has had a new owner since we last visited a few years ago, but might be worth giving them a call. Also look at asking a farm type CL/CS if they do storage, some do, we know of one in Yorkshire, but hes so popular he has a waiting list for places. It certainly works out cheaper than a main commercial site when it comes to paying the nightly pitch fees, but you do have to be a member of one of the clubs to use this type of site, although the storage if offered is an entirely private arangement, and often one that is only offered to trusted 'regulars'.

What kind of site are you looking for?have a look at Mill Farm caravan park website,(can be found on here)its near Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock they will store it for you and you can stay whenever you like, very quiet site in the middle of nowhere, but they do have fishing pools if your O/H fishes.
I used to fly out of the fields near by,(no noise really as we didn't fly over the park)
just worked out if we go 5 night over all the Bank hols have our normal 2 weeks and a late week plus once a month its probably going to break even looking at 53 nights in the van :) so its working out about £25 a night if we can get on the one we are going to look at
