We have been looking at the new 2015 Bailey Unicorn, and are seriously thinking of swapping, possibly next October. I am amazed to find though that a 'van of this spec. and this price does not have an alarm.I am not too worried about getting burgled, more when I come to insure it, the first thing they will ask is about an alarm. I am also mindfull of the problems discussed on UK campsites about the problems people have had with earlier Unicorns. Does the team think , Bailey have ironed out any earlier issues with this caravan ???

I don't think the lack of an alarm will count against you too much - and I'm sure that if you want one you could have one installed.
When I insured my 'van the insurance was much more concerned about where it would be kept and what wheel and hitch locks I had. Insurance companies are I'm sure aware that when alarms go off these days people assume they're faulty rather than they'll go and investigate - whenever I hear one I'm just annoyed by it.
Were it a choice between an alarm and ATC, I'd take the latter any day.
------------- Camping Gear expands so as to fill the space available for its transportation.
We just got a quote for a new Unicorn Valencia, and it worked out cheaper than our 'old' Pegasus. I think it's the stability technology, along with the Tracker, that the insurers like rather than an alarm.
I'm hoping they have sorted out the problems - we had a 'mare with our Pegasus Ancona but then two vans before that were cracking, albeit not Alu-tech.
We've had a long look at the new series, and had a long chat with the local salesman; he will obviously give us a good bit of sales patter, but he had such a headache with our last one I think he's probably been about as honest as he can regarding the changes made to reduce the problems.
Touch wood, fingers crossed, etc etc. I just hope I'm not here in 6 months time eating my words

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?

Good luck with your new UnicornĀ Di+Glyn_W when do you take delivery ?
Hi pee jay,
should get it round about end of Feb - date still to be confirmed but we're already booked to go away in April.....woo hoo!
We did look at another make, then got talking to a chap on holiday who had the van we were looking at; he was having a nightmare with it and just wanted rid of it. Just goes to show that pretty much all makes have their problems.....
Just got to 'go for it'!
