My husband and I bought a caravan from Harris Caravans today. So far we are really happy. Lovely couple, friendly but most importantly they are customer focussed.
after seeing quite a few caravans and giving Dave a full work out by going from one end of yard to the other constantly we decided on our first caravan.
Dave was fully aware of what we wanted and was conscious and considerate to our needs. Very nice couple and very welcoming to myself and my family.
I personally will be recommending this company to friends and family wanting to buy their first caravan.
Thank you Dave and to your lovely wife for all your help and time. Much appreciated

Be warned Harris Caravans are a load of crooks and liars. They sold me a death trap. They said it was a 2003 Elddis, while in reality it was 1998. I was told not to use my damp meter as it would damage the vehicle. I wish I had it was riddled with damp and three windows fell out. The sink in the shower, turned out to have a large hole in it. They claimed it was in full working order, while the water heater was belched out carbon monoxide. The battery provided was dead, the gas cylinder was very old and no one would exchange it, the tyres were perished and I almost had a blow out as a result. They promised to pay me compensation a number of times, but nothing was ever forthcoming

You have been warned

This thread was started in 2014 by a person who posted for the first time and hasn't posted since. A couple of other complainers were also first time posters and here we are, over 3 years on and the post is resurrected from the mists of time by another first time poster. Just coincidence I suppose.

So, you weren't allowed to use a damp meter but there was enough damp in the caravan for 3 windows to fall out. Did you not examine the panelling around the windows? That amount of damp has to be physically noticeable without a damp meter.

The sink had a large hole in it. Why didn't you see that when you examined the caravan?

How did you know the water heater was belching out carbon monoxide? It's an odourless invisible gas.

Re the dead battery...did you not check the 12 volt electrics?

Did you expect a brand new full bottle of gas?

The tyres were perished and you drove it away from the dealers like that. Did you not check those? You almost had a blow out? You mean you didn't quite have a blow out...just almost?

Did you see this caravan at all before parting with your cash?
