As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Doo heir you can get caravans weighing 1800 kg on a single axle and 1300kg on a twin axle, not sure why the smaller weight on a twin but technically they are a more stable tow on a twin
I've owned and towed both, as a general rule twin axles are longer and heavier than singles but there are exceptions, such as the Adria Isonzo.
Singles are easier to move by hand, turn on a tighter circle and are cheaper to service. Plus the obvious advantage you only have 2 tyres to replace.
Twins are dearer to service, double the tyres to replace although the tyres are often cheaper as most are not the extra load tyres required on a single. Turning circle is much bigger, movers more expensive and they are more fiddly to level than a single as you can't use a simple ramp to do it, you need planks of wood or similar. Then you get a lot of extra space and from my experience they tend to bounce the rear of the car less as they are more balanced than a singe. I would also rather have a puncture or blow out on a twin than a single Twin axles also appear to suffer heavier depreication than singles too.
We've found that twin axles are much easier to load as balancing can be difficult with single axles. Things you have to regularly do on trips such as emptying the water tanks etc are not as problematic on a twin than on a single axle.
Each to there own but im sticking with twin axle.Tows like a dream, not really hard to move,if you get a blow out on one tyre its not disaster as you can safely pull up with the other. They do tow better but ive had both single and twin and never had a problem.Quite simply if you want a big van with lots of space like me go for twin.Levelling is also easy with the lock and level. No need for planks of wood or messing about
------------- i dont sell cheap tat.I sell tat cheap
I have had both and currently on twin axle lunar and really wont go back to single axle mainly as i tow with a transit crew cab van and a single axle makes the van bob when on bumpy roads plus double axle easier and less unstable in high winds...turning circle i dont find it any bigger as being honest i just screw mine round if i need to..tyres are cheaper and easier to load..I dont drain water or anything like that even leave bed made up(it is fixed bed anyway) and motor movers dont really need them on any caravan but mine is only on 1 axle mover..
defintly more stable in winds..

If you get a newer twin axle with the Alko wheel lock and the insurer insists on two locks you have to jack it up to get at least one on.
Twins more expensive to insure and some insurers won't insure them as they get stolen more often.
you don't have to fit 2 alko locks or jack your van up. you need 2 clamps so we use one alko and one nemesis. As for insurance there is little difference unless you buy a hobby or similar. Our single axle was £200 valued at £14k and our current twin £260 valued at £20k
i would agree checkley, our insurance is not much more than it was for our 1993 ABI brightstar.Far more positives with a twin. And with the lock & level fitting the locks is a breeze aswell.I willstick with twin for sure

I also agree, although no experience yet, as have my eye on a twin axle ready for next spring. My insurance company are also NOT insisting on twin axle locks from alko, and the new ones out there do not need the van jacking up. Also got a lock and level on order and see no problem with towing.
Love the extra space a twin gives too.

if its floor space you need try looking at the adria isonzo,we looked at every caravan make and model to get as much floor space as possible and found the isonzo has massive amounts of floor space, its a single axle and 2.45 metres wide which makes a big difference.
