Hi All

I am in the process of changing my caravan and currently have a Ventura Atlantic 1050 cms , problem is awning rail length if the new van is 1080 cms. I have called to get a quote for having it altered and with transport and vat costs its £285.00
Does anyone know if a 1050 would have enough play in it for a 1080 awning channel? The awning is hardly used and too good to sell cheaply as would only to have to replace it again? Problem is I only use a full awning for our main summer holiday in France or Italy and it is nit worth buying a whole new awning?
Thanks

I'd try it out first and see if it has enough play.

Hi Dave,we too have just had our Atlantic altered to fit our new van ,500 mm to be exact,I thin that a difference of 300mm would cause problems.the company we used was Trio Pair ,the service was terrific,we had to look twice to find the alteration and all for £220 .colection by courier and returned the same,

Have you considered nicking the beading and making it into a large porch awning using a pole against the caravan near the back? Many people do this to save buying a new awning. I have done it with an Isabella pole and pad set. See my picture.

I would try it first, as some time ago we changed a van and specification said we needed an awning 25cms longer than our existing one, but found it still fitted perfectly with still some length to spare

Certainly worth trying. I have just changed my van and found exactly the same thing with my Isabella awning. As I only bought the awning earlier this year, I wasn't looking forward to replacing it or getting it altered!
