I am considering my first caravan purchase, moving from an FC, and know that a damp meter is an essential piece of equipment. Rather than a model that just buzzes or red/green leds, I will buy one with a display giving a % reading.
What sort of % would be acceptable? Zero is obviously ideal but realistically some moisture will be present in most materials. So 5%?? 10%??.
What sort of "walk away" reading should I be aware of?

as you say 0% is ideal but weather plays a part in the calculations. Its normally accepted that up to 15% is ok 15/20% should be checked frequently in order to determine if this reading is just due to weather/condensation conditions or a oncoming problem.
over 20% then immediate Investigation is needed.35/40% plus & you have a severe problem
as a buyer I would walk away with a reading above 10%
