Hi
I have recently seen a thread re. Unicorn 111, and of problems with led lights on caravan not working ie indicators.( I can't find it now), I have a 2012 Sorento and collect my Unicorn 111 early February, can I expect problems with indicators ???

The problem is caused car not being able to detect lighting on caravan as leds do not draw much current. Its not really the fault of the car, caravans with led road lights should be fitted with load resistors to provide a current load that car can 'see'. Bailey dealer should be able to tell you if caravan has load resistors built in. It should have.

Yep, its all over the web now, most caravans with LED's are causing problems for the tow cars. Hope it can be fixed though.

It is simple to "fix".
You either buy the more expensive "CanBus" safe LED units or you fit a resistor across the leads of the unit.

Or as in my case, the caravan manufacturer puts in normal bulbs.

What's the point of energy saving LEDs if you have to fit a load resistor.

They are not only trending at the moment, but draw less power do not get hot etc etc., but tow electrics dont like them much!
They do look the cats whiskers though, and I wouldnt be without them inside the van.
But Iv asked and apparently im getting........(watch this space) normal bulbs put into the rear light clusters of my soon to be arriving Unicorn.
I think this will be accross the board on all Unicorns now.
