Hi folks.
One of the front locker stay catches has snapped off ( the bit that the lock secures onto) I've bought a replacement one but does anyone know or can recommend how to remove the old rivets on the old broken one and fix the new one on? I don't want to cause any damage to the caravan? We have a swift challenger 520 SE by the way ( 2002 model) any advice most welcome as usual.

Is it pop rivet. Small rivets with a hole in. If so you can drill the pop rivet out and put a new one in with a pop rivet gun. Really simple.

Use a slightly bigger drill than the heads of the rivets thats the end with the hole.Be careful and drill the heads off slowly.

3.2mm or 1/8" drill should do it.

Thanks for the reminder. I did (or SWMBO did) the same to ours last year. I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit and I'll crack on with it. Pop rivet gun and rivets all set for action.
Just drill the head off the rivet, don't try and drill straight through. It's got a steel pin in the centre which could throw the drill bit off-centre and make the hole too big.

I made mine from a piece of aluminium and added the shaped curve by using a Last and hammer. (Cobblers anvil)
