Hello all, today I bought a 2wd mover for my ta, can anyone please give me any tips on how to pivot it more on the ground, I know its a ta and its better with 4wd but my budget can only afford a 2wd for now, I read that people raise the jockey wheel and other sorts off madness, Thanks

either lower the front of the van to the ground or raise it up as much as possible, depending if the mover if fore or aft fitted

careful if you raise the front up too much if the length is too long you may bend the jockey wheel assembly they are not that strong.. the words cheap cr-p spring to mind..

i would go for lowering the front.. and giving the mover some manual help..

even with a single axle i lower the front of my van.. if the wheel gets stuck or snagged the mover has enough power to bend the entire thing.. the longer or higher it is the easier it bends..

trog

I have the old style purpleline enduro mover and as mentioned when it gets moving there is a lot of torque.

I have the smaller solid jockey wheel and ive had it go sideways and lock, but the mover will just keep pushing.

It started to dig into the gravel surface, i had to back it up before risking damaging something.

Raising the jockey wheel and all sorts of madness is what you may have to do if cutting corners.
Obviously a T/A mover almost doubles the cost and weight.

Reduced payload.

Hi Johnny, maybe a bit late, but i have a 2 wheel drive on a TA and to be honest your going to struggle to make your van turn anything like a single axle.
Even with the jockey wheel up not recommended, it could bend or collapse,   when wound up you are putting a lot of weight on the jockey wheel and it will sink into the grass or gravel, although all the way down is ok but it will still not turn much better.
Been there done that and on every type of surface you can think of.
Backwards and forwards or turning in a large arch no problem
for anyone wanting to turn any caravan very very easily this is how i done it saving a large pot of cash
Available for over 100 different cars

We don't bother messing with the jockey wheel. I've found with ours the single mover works fine with some lateral force from yours truly.
