Hi all,
A family member has a Ace Award 2007 which has a leak around the door, I have looked and it seems to be leaking between the door frame and the body. His door seems to be a white molded construction, whereas on my caravan there is a standard aluminium frame with an outer seal, behind which are lots of screws.
Firstly, am I correct in assuming the door frame is bonded with some sort of adhesive?
Secondly, what adhesive could be used, when the door frame is refitted I am thinking Silkaflex 512
I would be grateful for any advise

The door and the door frame has seals. All you have to do is match and measure the old seals to the ones here...

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for replying, but I am a little confused, there is a black rubber seal that the actual door closes against, this seems ok. Although, the door frame itself sits into the side of the caravan, I can see what looks like old adhesive or mastic sealant where is has not been cleaned back very well.
Are you saying that there is another seal/gasket between the door frame and the caravan side instead of an adhesive/mastic of some kind?
Sorry if I have misunderstood your comments

You should have a seal round the actual door then one round the door frame..
