Hi I cannot get my carver fanmaster 3000s gas heater to ignite, I am not getting any spark/clicking when I hold down the dial, I know there is a certain point where it should be to let gas flow but I cannot find it, the leisure battery is also connected, it is not a manual igniter, I don't think it is an isolater switch issue, any help would be appreciated
The 3000A has a AA battery or two but the 3000S is powered from the caravan battery.
So common problem is dirty 12v connection pins on the ignition module.
Two things about this, 12v connection wires must be fitted with the positive wire closest to end of modules box, this making negative towards the middle, negative should have white in it's colours. Best way is take a picture of the connection BEFORE you pull the plug out, that way you will be in no doubt when you put it back which way round it fits. Get it wrong and it blows up!!
Second then, the plug only makes connection on one side of the two square pins, this is the side facing the printed circuit board and so away from the fire. Clean ant dirt and corrosion off this side, I drag a craft knife blade over the face to scrape clean.
As for the 'sweet spot' for lighting, turn knob toward the marked lighting position but press down before you arrive there, now when you get to the correct point, you will then feel the knob fall a little further as it drops into a slot and locks so it cannot turn forward or back. This is the ONLY place it lights.
