Ok so it's not a pressing matter as were no where near in a position to buy a van yet but still... My hyundai only has one plug, I presume is for the lights on the van, is it very recommended that I need a twin set up? I presume it only charges the leasure battery? Not a huge problem as when we go to our usuall site there's electric hook up.
I do apologise for the maybe neieve questions, many thanks
Its not a major job for a 12s to be added but unless you want the fridge running when traveling I wouldn't worry... As for the reversing light its not a legal requirement immsmc
Its your choice, extra socket charges battery & runs fridge while driving. I'd wait until you get a caravan. Those after 2009 have newer type 13pin plug fitted as standard & you can fit a 13pin plug to an older caravan quite easily combining both cables.
Lift flap of car socket, does it have 7poles or 13? If 7 then you can have extra 7pin 12s fitted. If its 13pin then it may well be only wired for caravan road lights & will need extra loom to activate for battery charging/fridge anyway.
I know the twin socket on ours charges the battery as we toe also keeps the fridge cool if you take anything with you . Hubby does the towing but I know it works fridge as I switch it to the battery when we tow. It would depend on how far away you go and would you want to carry chilled stuff.Sorry I cant help more
We never had it on ours. Just run the fridge on mains before you leave and the contents will stay cold for a few hours anyway.
Actually... Thinking about it, our Landrover did have 2 sockets on the back, but I never bothered pluging the other one in lol
So basically no need to worry then as I'll only need the fridge once on pitch and I'll trickle the battery if needed, I'll have a look when I go out in abit, thanks for the advice
