We have a seasonal pitch and the awning is on hard standing but the car is parked on the grass. We need something that we can put down so that we are not chewing up the grass and making the place very muddy. Any ideas

Only thing you can do is not park on the grass till its dry enough to drive on.

try astro turf,or if allowed,scaffolding planks cut down to the size you need,the problem you have is whatever you use,the grass will die and that doesn't please the site owners,have a word with them,maybe they will have a solution

Grass mats. Perforated mats that you can drive on but will still allow the grass to grow through them.

If its an area that's prone to mud every time it rains then site owners will usually extend the gravel/hardstanding to incorporate the car parking. Have a word with them.
