Hi all, first of all we have a Bailey Senator 6 series Louisiana.
This is our first outing since getting the van out of storage from last year.
We hit our first major problem when we turned on the lights and the fuse box tripped.
Also noticed the charger fuse was blown.
The electrical sockets works and so does heater but we have lost the following:
Water heater
Fan blower on gas fire
Lights inside
Water pump
There are 3 trips on front of fuse box with one that says lights, water heater and pump on it (1st trip on left looking at it).
Does anybody know what this could be?
We have always had a problem with charging battery side of things as the battery has never charged even replacing it.
We are now on a site with out any of the above !!!!
Had a similar problem at home. Called out an electrician who did the following and charged me for it! When in reality it was an obvious procedure to follow.
He switched EVERYTING off.
He then switched them on one at a time, until he found the item(s) that were the cause. It was the fridge and it had a damaged cable, when he had a closer inspection.
I have used the same technique since .
Try it. One at a time.
If 'everything is turned off' or the trip controlling the circuits that are on the tripped isolator then there should be no current flow to trip the site unit.
If you sure you are isolating all the 12v units onboard then trying another supply is a good idea.

Can't see how it's the cable if I have:
Fridge working
Tv working
Microwave working
Heating works etc
The only things that are not working is all 12v ?
No tap pump so no running water
12v interior lights
Awning light
Sorry, autocorrect should have been cabling .......
240 and 12 volts are two entirely different circuits..
if its the 12 volt things that blow or wont work the fault is on that circuit.. if it blows with things switched off the fault is between the off switch and the supply or fuse..
tis a complicated job finding a simple fault.. i would guess a wiring fault.. close to the beginning of the circuit.. the charger is part of the 240 circuit..
It sounds like the 240v side of things are fine, the tripping happens when you try to power up the 12v side. I would be suspecting the charging unit. It may possibly be OK receiving the 240v to it,but have a fault, where by as soon as you try to draw 12v from it it trips the electrics. You already say it has a history of trouble and the fuse has blown.
Unplug your EHU and try powering up the 12v straight off the battery. Make sure all 12v systems are off.If it still trips the caravan, check the wiring connections to the battery to ensure they are not damaged, especially the positive side. If you have had the battery disconnected in storage, check it's been reconnected the right way! Visually check as much of the caravan wiring as possible, under seats,in cupboards, under the van, looking for evidence of rodent damage. If the trip does not go switch each of the 12v items on in turn and see if any trip. If they do that will be your problem. If none then the fault will be in the charger or it's associated wiring.
