Hi has anyone any experience of moving the toilet in an older caravan.
It is a swift rapide about twenty years old.
We want to move the showeroom along to where the wardrobe currently is, that way we will have enough room to fit fixed bunks along the wall. I know we will loose the wardrobe but it tends to bed dead space. The wheel arch would be within the new shower room but there is enough room to have the toilet next to it. Our shower room is in need of a refit so we figured we would take advantage and add better sleeping area for our children. We can't afford to upgrade at the moment so changing the van isn't, an option.
My question is there any reason we can't move the toilet external door along and patch repair the existing exterior hole?
Also internally as long as we keep the current floor to ceiling supports is there any reason why we cannot move things along a bit.
We will never resell our van as we love it too much but at the same time we don't want to do something which will cause it to fall apart!!!
I should add my husband is very practical and able to complete this task to a high spec.

Any advise appreciated.

Thank you
Louise

Have you considered the weight distribution on your planned moves, could end up with more weight on one wheel than other wheel. Might effect the handling of the van try to work out the removed weight of wardrobe and added weight of bunk beds etc Good luck on your refit
