Well I've done it and gone for the Mondeo.  Picking it up Wednesday this week17

Had a Mondeo before and towed pretty well, so don't think I'll regret it (soon find out though!!)

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Hi Johnger, I have a '63 plate, same as you've just bought, 2.0 Zetec, business edition, but mine is also an estate, it's a cracking car and will tow your caravan without a problem. My biggest problem is keeping the speed down when I'm towing as it tows so easily. Mine has only done just over 7000 miles in 20mths.
