I need to remove my old number plate and put the new one on the van ( new tug).
The problem is it seems to be stuck on with plastic pot rivets!.
Any ideas on how to get it off?

Might not be rivets but could be plastic trim clips? If you push the centre pin in slightly that allows you to pull the whole thing out. To re-use them you have to pull the centre pin out, fit the "rivet" then push the pin back in until it's flush with the outside part.
If you can post a picture it may help identify the type of fastening.
Are there any fixings visible on the numberplate? If not it will be stuck on with double sided tape. To remove use a length of dental floss like cheese wire, put floss behind one end of plate & work it along cutting through tape.
