I have the Milenco wheel clamp that goes around the tyre and secures to a wheel nut, I find this heavy and bulky, while looing around I have seen these small orange triangle ones, they look lighter and more compact, for ease of use and weight is there anyone you'd recommend?
I have one but my insurance company doesn't list it as one of their approved items. We are with Caravanguard these are the units they recommend
Discount for an axle wheel lock device
Al-Ko Secure wheel lock
Many new caravans have a receiver in the chassis for an axle wheel locking device such as 'Al-Ko Secure' or 'Bulldog Max'. We accept these devices in place of a traditional wheel clamp and you will also qualify for an additional 10% caravan insurance discoun
Luckly mine comes with a tracker built in aswell along with a data chip the Police scan the body for, im not sure what else you can do, but I will check my Insurance for the Nemesis they look a lot better.
My insurance requires a wheel clamp without specifying make.
For a determined thief they are a nuisance and time consuming.
We have a bright yellow and red on which is a visual deterrent and cost about £15.
At home the van is kept in the garage and on site has awnings etc to slow down theft.
I'm getting a Nemesis Ultra, purely because the caravan dealer said that the AL-KO was a nightmare to fit without a motor mover.
He also said because the AL-KO was going to cost me roughly £230 and the Nemsis Ultra is £110, its actually cheaper buying the Nemsis, as the 10% discount on insurance is way less than £120 (I think on my insurance I would have saved about £20 if I had bought the AL-KO one)
