Hiya all,
I appear to have a problem with my caravan indicators / lights. First time out this weekend so decided to hitch up to the car and check them. We have all sorts of amazing disco lights when I indicate etc. but nothing that should achually be happening.:(
Any idea what could be the problem and could anyone recommend where I can take it to get sorted in the Cheshire (Crewe) area.

Loose or crossed wires maybe plug or socket wired wrong. Can you check your car on another trailer or lighting board? Check caravan on another car? Should be a simple repair for any auto spark

I'm no auto electrician but it's normally down to a bad earth wire / connection.

Clean every connector patiently with emery paper.

Especially the main 7 pin connector.

If that fails you'll have to delve further into the caravan and clean any connection strips you find. Also remove the rear light clusters and clean every connector you can see with emery paper. Good luck

Another thing you could try is cleaning the pins with brake cleaner (after the above, light sanding), worked with mine once.

Be careful with brake cleaner its nasty stuff.


Get some proper electrical switch contact cleaner. Its designed for the job. You can get that dry clean and some that leave a light coating of moisture protection.

I would say the same as some others have said. Sounds like a bad earth to me. That is the first place I would start looking.
