Hi to all, I'm new on here and new to caravaning after an absence of 15 years.!
...we have a swift Conquerer 550, 1997 model.
Just noticed the water heater fault light (red) has come on (as indicted on the top panel of the fuse, control panel). Yet we still have hot water it seems ? Should be worried ? Any ideas what the issue is please anyone ?
You have probably heated the water by electric and inadvertently also turned on the gas which for some reason has not lit. On EHU you only need to turn on the electric switch the other one only controls the gas function.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Thanks Bill....you may be right but the fault somehow self corrected and the light went out ! Water heater still working, so happy. Which is more than I can say about the electric heater : blowing but no heat, either with gas or electric. I'll post this as an additional query.
Simple question about the fire. If you do not turn off the fan does it convect heat, it should do this. On gas once you have lit the fire you should be able to see the flame burning through the inspection slot. If there is no flame there is no heat as the fire is not lit. This eans that either the fire went out after you lit it in which case either you did not hold the gas valve open long enough or the thermocouple needs replacing. Or the fire did not light so you need to keep trying, it sometimes takes a few tries before the fire lights.

We can't light the fire Bill as there's an issue with the pilot picking up. If the fire isn't lit then would that explain why we have no convected heat through the vents aren't working also ? In which case having no heat from the electric would lead me to believe it's the electric heater itself ? If the element had gone though wouldn't that blow a fuse ?
If the pilot is not picking up then you need a caravan/ gas technician to sort it out. If you turn the electric part of the fire on and with the fan off it does not convect then either a fuse has blown, the element is faulty, the circuit board is faulty in some way or you have a broken wire. For all things Carver then Gary of Arc Systems is your man. He has usually appeared by now on these threads.

info passed to me from gary = reach down the back of the fire on the left handside approx. a third the way down there is an indentation which you need to press, its not a button or anything really obvious but its there, your fire will have been reset if you do that
