Hi all,
We have a 1997 Swift conquerer ....heating has been working good all weekend but this morning no heat !! Fan is blowing air but is cold. This is irrespective of whether we select gas or electric. Heater type is a Fanmaster. All lights working i.e. Red light on fused electric switch and checked fuses all ok ? Any ideas ?

Its unusual for both gas & electric to fail at the same time, does the gas work on 'manual' setting with the fan off?

Its strange & unusual for both gas & electric to completely fail at the same time. Does the gas work on 'manual' setting with no blower?

Oops double post !

Hello Dave, not sure how the gas blow heater works on our system. Perhaps it operates from the fire in the living area and directs to the vents from tyre and hence needs lighting first ? We can't get the fire to light so if that is indeed the source of the heat then that would explain why? Which then leaves us with electric heater : I guess faulty element is most likely contender ?

I think you need a manual for your van and read it before you use it.
Our electric heating thermostat is at floor level and sometimes gets move by accident.
Also when you do get heat working don't put the fan on straight away let the fire get hot first.
You could be turning the water heater on and not the fire ?

We can't light the fire for some reason. Could not get the pilot to light. So I can't see that would be the issue.   It could perhaps be the thermostat !? We don't have a manual for the caravan unfortunately !
