Well, after some 36 years of caravanning it looks like it.s all over for us. Not having been very well this year and not felt like towing or driving far, the van hasn't been off the drive. Decided to put it up for sale, did that and the very next day suffered a stroke. Woke up 3 days later in Kent & Canterbury Hospital. Languished for a fortnight then they chucked me out last night. Am now stuck at home, banned from driving for a month and only then with medical clearance.
TOTALLY BORING< I HATE TV.
Going to buy a mobility scooter so at least I can get over the shops. Still very wobbly on my legs and not sure if I'll ever drive again.
I would just comment on the wonderful care I received from the fantastic NHS staff, don't let anyone criticise them within my earshott.
Oh, and if anyone fancies my dear little Adria Action, it's on the freeads page............Mick
Wishing you a speedy recovery Mick, and welcome to the Mobilty Scooter Clan!
I have a little Pride Go Go Elite Traveller Plus scooter, very easy to put into the car, just snaps together like Lego, and Powerful enough to carry upto 23st, and do about 20 miles on one charge, l really cannot do without it these days, and its so reliable, im now on my second one after wearing the first one out over 8years and many miles, l really love these little machines!
l hope you are soon able to get out and about again, and good luck with selling your caravan,
Julia

Sorry to hear your news and wish you a speedy recovery. Can't you put the van somewhere and go seasonal. Due to health reasons we have done this and find that we use the van more.
Dont give up on your mobility. You should be having intensive physio to get you moving on your own two legs again. Go and see your GP or the consultant at the hospital. I would have thought you should have already been referred as there is supposed to be protocles around stroke care.
sorry to hear of your trouble Mick, hope you make a speedy recovery isn't there anyone who can tow your van somewhere local for you . i'd certainly volunteer if i lived a little closer . good luck
