You could put in carnforth, hest bank is very close. Are you walking along the lancaster canal? There is a pub on the canal basin you could park in their car park but I cant think of the name, also I think a pub at hest bank, could you maybe google it and get address.

Looking at the map there are a couple of possible places.
Neither are directly of the A6 but of the A5105 which is off the A6.
One is near Morecombe lodge caravan park, Pasture Lane, there is a parking area past the site. The other is further north, on 'the shore' between Sandside caravan park and Red Bank Farm.

The only area where you cross the railway directly from the A6 looks between Bolton le sands and carnforth, there are 2 campsites but no obvious parking area shown on the map.

If this is the walk you are planning

http://www.lancashirelife.co.uk/out-about/walks/lancashire_walk_morecambe_bay_and_hest_bank_1_1868378

then it looks to be neither of the two places I mentioned. There is a café and parking again of the A5105, rather than the A6. Its called Shore Café.

The directions given are very vague I hate directions without a map/diagram of some sort, they can be very difficult to follow.
