I'm getting to the stage where I think using a drill to lower and raise the steadies might be a good idea.
So my question is: what drills, and in particular what volt rating are you using?
Thanks in anticipation.------------- David.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!

Any 14v or 18v will do the job easily, you don't need a mega expensive one, but the same if you were using one for any job just ensure the battery is kept charged.

Yup, we use a cheapo 18v one too.
We also use the same drill for screw in pegs for the awning. Easy to put in and a doddle to unscrew the pegs when we are packing up. ------------- Lobey.

any, you are only winding them down, not lifting the van.
if you feel you need to buy a quality one, buy one with a lithium battery.------------- alpiner

Agree with alpiner get a lithium battery model as they don't lose their charge when left for a period of time. We got a cheap own brand from b&q
