hi everyone,
ive got a small leak on the front of my elddis odyssey and it looks like its coming from the from the front window seal. how much should i be expecting to pay to have the seal replaced? its the middle window if that makes any difference.
I replaced all 3 front window seals myself, really easy to do, i needed 8 meters of seal in total for the 3 windows, took old ones off, measured lengths, and thickness between front grp and interior wall, which was 27mm for my van, then ordered new seals from sealsdirect, its as just under a tenner a meter, but with postage to scottish highlands total bill was £108 roughly. Its easy to fit, youtube has videos to help also
thanks patesy, im not 100% certain its leaking on the seals yet so im going to get a mobile fitter to have a look at it. from what ive read, £150 a window is a fair price to pay?
I was rebuilding the front end of my van, as water had damaged the framing and it was all rotten, on mine one of the grp spars had a stress fracture, thats where the water got in, so i replaced the seals after rebuilding the framing, to be honest, at £150 a window seal by a fitter, i did all 3 seals for £108, but its up to you
I was going to do all three until i realised the materials were around c£150.00 for another £95 the dealer did them in the end, not worth geting out my tools imho.
