Within 3 months the wall boards were damp and soft. At the time I didn't know this was what he did but since he is based on the farm I keep my caravan on I have seen his operation. I have just had my van repaired again under warranty by the engineer also based on the same storage facility in an industrial unit. Talking to this engineer, who does the fixing up this is exactly what the guy does. Buys wrecks fixes and sells them. In my case he had just put a dehumidifier in my van and dried it out. I didn't pay that much below the going rate on auto trader from a regular dealer. The repair guy is ex bailey and said that the GRP ends on the series 5 baileys and the cracking and leaks, nearly broke the company with warranty work.

However if you are only paying £2k for a caravan you won't be too upset if it needs repairing but if you payed £6k.......

Sounds like a operation just outside Worcester!

How did you guess? In fact just between Malvern and Worcester. All i can say is be very careful if considering buying from this place. Having said that the guy has always repaired my caravan even outside his 3 month warranty but I would rather have not had to have my van repaired. Leaves a sour taste.

Thanks for the advice.

Have been scouring the sites to view vans and have seen a few I like. Towbar is getting fitted 2pm today so can begin the serious look from then on.

I am sure there will be plenty more questions from me on here in the next few weeks!!

We used to store our caravan there and used him once for a repair and due to the state of the repair refused to pay. The same fellow wanted to stick a solar panel onto the roof of a caravan using only mastic!
Apologies to OP for the hijack, but I think the content is relevant if buying from this type of business model.

i guess you refer to the guy who sells the caravans?

i think he may be delusional, cant find any other reason?

the repair shop is now run by an Andy Hughes. he seems to know his stuff and from what i saw of a repaired smashed front end he did, on a caravan too old for spare panels, so fiberglass, filler and paint (subcontracted to a body work guy) it seemed a good job.

Andy is supposed to AWS but the other guy has put us off using him as they operate from the same premises. Just wary that is all!

don't blame you IanK, who do you use?

Lee has moved his operation to a location just behind the entry gate and has an accessories shop in a portacabin. his old location is now having units built on it.

there was a news letter from Malcolm and in it it advised that Lee was no longer involved in the workshop to concentrate on his accessories shop and sales pitch. and the workshop was taken over by Andy.

Andy still fixes the caravans for lee but i get the impression he is not 100% comfortable with the arrangement.

where do you keep your caravan now? Malcolm persists in increasing his fees and if he does so anymore i am moving.

That is the reason why we left although it is very secure and a GOLD CASSOA site. We are now at Riverside Park which ius just as secure and has wardens etc on the move all and every day. Try them to move on in January 2016.
