I've been told by a dealer that the only motor mover that an be fitted to Trigano Silver Caravans is the Reich movecontrol eco...at an eye watering price of £1300!
Has anyone ever fitted a different make successfully ?
Do you need to have a mover on such a light weight 'van?
Of course if you're in your 70s and no good at driving then I understand that you'd need some assistance. But you see plenty of folk getting them on the pitch without a mover.

The first is that I plan you use the good payload specs to maximum use buying wine in France...
and secondly...the door is on the "wrong" side, and some British sites stipulate that I would have to pitch the caravan in "nose first"...no mean feat as I'm on my own.
Yes we had a motor mover fitted when we had a Trigano, it was a Powrtouch. They supply special fitting plates for the Trigano. Very useful it was too on many occasions.
We did find fitting a 110ah battery very tight, and an 85ah battery is a much better fit and will be more than enough for the mover.
It's not just about maneuvering on site. I have a relatively lightweight Eriba but it takes a multi point turn, on a pot holed track, to get it in to my back garden. No chance of doing that manually.
Phone Autowfix and have a chat with them. They fixed a purpleline mover to my tiny caravan. It required two drop plates which were £90 extra on top of the price, but I have never regretted having it fitted. Good service, good price and they fit it on your drive.

We have a 420 and a Powrtouch which works very well.
It would seem your dealer is looking for a nice little earner or is just too lazy to do any homework.
Can I ask...is the powertouch mover you have on your 420 in front, or behind the wheel? Reich put them behind...and there's a few reports of early failure due to spray ingress.

Reich motor units are located well inboard unlike any competitor so the motors can better tolerate being behind the wheels. My Reich were for 8 years until I sold the van on and so are the Powrtouch on the latest again just under 8 years trouble free.
I am sure if you search you will get a Reich a lot cheaper than £1300. Self fitting was easy.
The Trigano Silver does not have a standard ALKO chassis, it is much shallower, wonder if the Reich would fit?
The Trigano is fitted with dampers (well at least mine was) and therefore the motor mover will only fit in front. My Powrtouch never gave any problems in the five years I had the van.
